5 Reasons Why You Gotta Love the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe XL

The much anticipated wait is finally over! Hyundai’s all new 2013 Santa Fe XL has arrived at Destination Hyundai (445 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC)! This vehicle is the extended wheelbase XL model of the 2013 Santa Fe introduced last summer. Designed in parallel, the two models match in innovation, yet the XL far exceeds in space. It’s the ideal CUV for those who value space, style, and driving performance in a vehicle that doesn’t feel at all like a typical Crossover.

Here are 5 reasons why you gotta love the all-new 2013 Santa Fe XL

1. Loads of Space

The most obvious difference between the Santa Fe XL and the original Santa Fe is the addition of a third row in the XL. It comfortably allows seating for up to 7 passengers in the Base, Premium, and Luxury trims. The third row seats split-fold 50-50, transforming the vehicle instantly into a high-capacity cargo mover. The second row split-folds seating to 40/20/40 – great for ski gear and hockey sticks. The Limited, which is the most luxurious of all trims, offers 6-passenger seating with comfortable captain seats in replacement of the second row folding seats.

2. World class fuel efficiency and engine power

The new Santa Fe XL is the only mid-sized CUV that comes loaded with a high-power Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) 3.3L V6 engine, making it the most fuel efficient among vehicles with an automatic transmission. This fuel efficiency is also enhanced due to the vehicle’s lighter overall weight, being more than 100kg lighter than its main competitors.  It also includes Hyundai’s SHIFTRONIC manual mode (automatic transmission with 6-speed manual shift control when desired).

3. Car-like Driving performance in a CUV

The Santa Fe XL also provides the driver with all the benefits of a large Crossover without feeling like one. It actually drives more like a luxury sedan, through its flexible handling and faster acceleration.

4. Extraordinary Value: Premium comfort features minus the premium price

At a price range of $29,999 (Base trim) to $42,899 (the more luxurious Limited trim), the 2013 Santa Fe XL offers excellent value unmatched by competitors in the crossover segment, with each trim priced significantly lower than most competing models. The standard Base trim includes a plethora of comfort features and technologies, including heated front seats, power doors, air conditioning, keyless entry with alarm, and integrated Bluetooth hands-free phone system, among others. The Premium trim features all-wheel drive, leather heated steering wheel, third row climate control, heated rear seats, and most notably, a power tailgate (pictured here). One of the most impressive attributes of the Luxury trim is its panoramic sunroof—Summer road-trips would never be the same! Finally, the Limited trim comes with additional features including captain seats, ventilated front seats, a push-start button with proximity key, and LED tail lights, among others.

 5. Bold Fluidic Design

Hyundai’s signature, fluidic exterior design is skillfully expressed in its new Santa Fe XL. Its flowing silhouette from back to front, top to bottom, complete with sculpted headlights and available 19” alloy wheels, make this vehicle a real head-turner on the road. Its dual chrome exhuast tips further add to the vehicle’s sporty and bold appeal.
