Introducing its 4th generation RAV4, Toyota has made significant changes this year. The 2013 RAV4 is offered in 3 trims: LE, XLE and Limited, with the LE and XLE available in all-wheel drive (AWD). The new model boasts a complete make-over and takes fuel efficiency, style, and comfort to new heights.
Here are 5 reasons why you gotta love the 2013 Toyota RAV4:
1. Bolder & sleeker exterior
The 2013 RAV4 represents a new design direction by Toyota for its compact SUV. Its bold design places more focus on aerodynamics, a departure from its more conservative predecessor—in some ways the new RAV4 more closely resembles the look of its bigger brother, the Highlander. Most significant of all changes is the removal of the rear spare tire, which is now located under the cargo area inside the vehicle. As shown in the video clip below, drivers have the convenience of a new rear lift-gate design with a power switch, which allows for easy opening and closing. There is also a memory function that enables you to set a preferred height for the door (this comes standard for the Limited trim).
2. Enhanced driving experience
The RAV4 is all about adventure and excitement. With its Advanced Drive Mode Select, you can tailor driving through a choice of Normal, Eco, and Sport modes. The new All-wheel drive system with Dynamic torque control provides greater control in any weather, for on- or off-road conditions. You can also choose between three control modes: Auto (switches between all-wheel and front-wheel drive), Lock (fulltime all-wheel drive), and Sport (sharper shifting and response times). The following video provides a more intimate look at the RAV4’s performance features.
3. Fuel Efficiency
The RAV4’s upgraded 2.5 liter, 4-cylinder engine, with 6-speed transmission and sequential shifting provides greater flexibility; drivers also have the option of selecting a manual or automatic configuration. The eco-drive indicator informs you when you’re in the most fuel efficient zone, a feature that has helped the RAV4 maintain its status as one of the most fuel efficient SUVs on the road.
4. Interior comfort, versatility and features
Through the use of sound-proofing materials designed to reduce noise from road and wind drag, the new RAV4 offers quieter ride than the 2012 model. Another notable enhancement is the large amount of cabin space. With the removal of the 3rd row seating, passengers in the back seat have almost as much space as those in the front. The rear seats of all RAV4 trims fold down with a 60/40 split, allowing the space to be transformed into a respectably-sized cargo hold.
The 2013 Toyota RAV4 has an impressive array of features, some of which include rear and passenger seat adjustment options, Bluetooth controls, a 12-volt accessory power outlet, and many more. The limited model comes complete with a smart key system, auto dimming rear-view mirror, illuminated front-cup holder, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob.
5. Safety technology & Reliability
The RAV4 is also loaded with Toyota’s leading safety technology. The Star Safety System is designed to help drivers avoid collisions through its suite of features, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA)and Smart Stop Technology (SST). The RAV4 has received various awards for value and reliability, specifically for maintenance costs, retained value, and Best Overall Value 7 years out of the last 8. RAV4 Awards and Ratings
