When it comes to our guests and team members, there’s no problem too big and no detail too small for Charlene Owuor, Sales Administrator and Reception Supervisor at Destination Kingsway Honda Vancouver.
Charlene first started her journey with us as a Full-Time Weekend Administrator and Inventory Receptionist shorty after completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, and now only 2 years later she is our lead Sales Administrator and Reception Supervisor within the dealership. This particular role is imperative when it comes to facilitating smooth operation between each department, which includes new and pre-owned vehicle sales processing, coordination between vendors and suppliers in support of the sales department, strategizing and implementing best practices with her reception team, reception team payroll administration, and much more! Although new to the automotive industry, Charlene has noticed the influx of women’s overall representation but believes “there are still unfair assumptions associated with historically male driven roles, therefore women and auto groups as an entirety need to challenge the preconceived notions and champion from within. As we gain more traction on the normalization this will eventually disappear leaving a more diverse and balanced workforce.” Charlene is a shining example what it means to feel empowered to find solutions regardless if it falls outside of her job description, she exclaims “throughout my time at Destination Auto Group I’ve been faced with difficult and straining situations – but I’ve always maintained the mentality of showing up to work with the attitude ‘I’m here to learn’ and nothing will go wrong from there.”
Charlene is a key member of our Destination Auto Group family and we are excited to see her flourish over the next coming years!
