Burnaby’s Brentwood Neighborhood is Changing. What Now?

The face of the Brentwood neighborhood in Burnaby may be changing even more in the near future. The Carter Dodge dealership that was located along the Lougheed highway near Brentwood Town Center has shut its doors. The dealership first opened over 50 years ago and had managed to remain true to its original purpose as an auto dealer, while being surrounded by rapid redevelopment.

The closure may have been a long time coming. The area’s redevelopment was undoubtedly stimulated by the opening of the Millennium Skytrain line in 2002, which runs right along the Lougheed Highway through Burnaby. Since 2014 the area around the Brentwood Town Centre station has seen new developments like “The Amazing Brentwood” as the centerpiece of the neighborhood’s new face with retail, office and residential space. Other residential towers have also been sprouting in the surrounding area.

The closure of the Carter dealership makes us wonder what’s in store for the land that once housed it.

The dealership carried vehicles from Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler and RAM and so the team at Destination Auto Group is concerned about the guests that were displaced by the closure and would be looking for an alternative authorized dealer, service and parts center.

Destination Chrysler is there to pick up the slack in this regard. They’re conveniently located only 20 minutes away from Burnaby off Hwy #1, just a few blocks down from the intersection of Capilano Road and Marine Drive.

They feature a full-service dealership with all the latest Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and RAM models as well as a comprehensive lineup of pre-owned vehicles. Their service department has manufacturer trained technicians who are meant to be some of the most knowledgeable specialists in the industry. The parts department carries only genuine Mopar parts and accessories that were specifically designed to keep your ride running smooth and looking cool.

As a bonus, they have an offer on for their Burnaby guests where you could save $50 on a repair or service over $100.

Carter may have dodged Burnaby, but it looks like Destination Chrysler will be sticking around for the long haul to continue serving the Metro Vancouver area.
