For the last 30 years, the Business in Vancouver’s Top Forty under 40 award recognized young business leaders, entrepreneurs, executives and professionals, who have shown excellence in judgment and a desire to improve their communities. This year the judges received over 160 nominations, the highest number to date.
Adil Ahamed, managing director of Destination Auto Group, was named as one of Business in Vancouver’s 2019 Top Forty under 40 winners.
“Since early on, Adil has always aimed to maintain a balance between business and community with the objective of making life better for all stakeholders.” said Aziz Ahamed, President of Destination Auto Group. “This is what drove him to work in international development with the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance, and support various local non profit boards and strategic committees.”
According to Business in Vancouver, “with staff engagement at the core of his approach, Ahamed and his team have integrated numerous innovations including the predictive index, a tool to identify the right people for the right roles, two proprietary sales foundation training and sales manager training courses, and a key performance indicator-based meeting guide for managers.”
Ahamed recently launched a company-wide staff recognition program based on its core brand value of “Challenging the Status Quo,” which recognizes top achievers in performance and peer leadership.
“My greatest career achievement was setting in place a cultural paradigm shift in our organization to attract talent, which led to the professionalization of our management teams and a greater focus on innovation and open communication,” said Ahamed.
